New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)
WHAT IS NEW BRUNSWICK PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM (NBPNP)
The New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream has been tailored for foreign individuals who possess the requisite skills, education, and work experience necessary to make meaningful contributions to New Brunswick's thriving economy. To be eligible for this program, candidates must meet the program's minimum requirements, secure a genuine job offer from a New Brunswick employer, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to residing and working in the province on a permanent basis.
This immigration initiative also serves as a valuable resource for New Brunswick-based employers facing challenges in filling job vacancies with Canadian citizens or permanent residents. By facilitating the recruitment of foreign nationals and international graduates with essential skills required in the province, the program addresses the labor market's demand for qualified professionals.
It's important to note that provincial immigration pathways are subject to federal immigration allocations, application volumes, and the specific labor market needs of New Brunswick. As a result, ONB immigration will exercise discretion in processing applications to align with the objectives of the NBPNP.
Starting from March 20, 2023, Immigration NB has implemented specific measures to efficiently manage the New Brunswick Skilled Worker stream inventory until the end of 2023, ensuring a more streamlined and effective immigration process.
Information:
The Express Entry Stream is linked to the federal Express Entry system, which is the main pathway for skilled workers to obtain permanent residence in Canada. Candidates interested in the Express Entry Stream of NBPNP must first create an Express Entry profile with the federal government and enter the Express Entry pool. The pool is a collection of candidates who are ranked based on factors such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency, and other criteria.
The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program periodically searches the Express Entry pool for candidates who meet the specific labor market and economic needs of New Brunswick. If a candidate is selected by New Brunswick, they will receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from the province. Receiving an NOI allows the candidate to apply for a provincial nomination from New Brunswick through the Express Entry Stream.
If a candidate is successfully nominated by New Brunswick through the Express Entry Stream, they will receive additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, which significantly boosts their chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.

Having connections to the province, such as family members or previous study or work experience, can enhance one's profile and increase the likelihood of being chosen.
